A multitude of videos in this post. I'm sure most of you have heard the song "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye. I rather like it, and the video is pretty interesting.
Watching it made me want to seek out some of his other songs/videos. I love the animation in this first one. Reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki. Pretty music, too.
After telling probably everyone about this video that my co-worker, Matt, posted on Facebook, I've decided to repost it here. It's hilarious.

As per Preston Sturges. And as per P3chez's recommendation, it's on the front page!
In 1941, a year after his movie, The Great McGinty, won the first ever Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, celebrated screenwriter/director and "father of the screwball comedy," Preston Sturges, drew up the following "eleven rules for box-office appeal."
Yes. A boxing cat. Neeti supplied the link. I thought I'd share the giggle it gave me.
Martin Scorsese Directs!

I've been on a bit of Martin Scorsese kick after seeing and loving his latest movie Hugo. Revisiting some of his movies and experiencing others for the first time has been fun. But it's a minute long commercial for American Express that I want to post now. It's hilarious.
I know y'all have probably already seen this. J certainly has. But I thought it may make an interesting conversation piece. Now, I'm not saying that I think it looks bad. Not by a long shot. But as far as trailers go, I find it somewhat weak. Yes, it got me excited to see this movie. But upon second and third viewing, it doesn't continue to strike me the same way. I think a bit more could have been teased without giving away anything that would have REALLY amped up some excitement... at least from me. Anyway, those are just my initial thoughts on the trailer.
For those who may not want to know more about this movie before it comes out, don't watch this. But if you're interested in seeing a more cinematic, somewhat less impressionistic introduction to the story, then by all means, check it out. Looks pretty good to me.
Trent Reznor Scores...

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with Atticus Ross. Of course, you already knew that. But had you heard that a six track sampler of the score is now available for free download? Or that you can pre-order the score, which is apparently three hours long, for $12. Or that if you really want to drop some cash, that there's a pre-order available for a deluxe box set? If you had, then I'll say, "Freakin' awesome, sir or ma'am!" If not, then by all means check the link here.
Strangely, someone captured footage of Terrence Malick shooting a new project with none other than Christian Bale. Want to see Malick at work (kind of)? Look here.
